Face Surgery

Face Surgery Options

To address concerns about facial shape or contour, along with unwanted signs of ageing in the eyes, face, neck, forehead, chin, cheek and mouth, there are a few surgical options available instead of a facelift.

Although all invasive procedures carry risks, less invasive approaches may be available.

A combination of any of 3 procedures can be utilised to address particular facial concerns.

The following 3 procedures involve minimally invasive techniques and can be performed as a day case in an accredited hospital under general anaesthetic.

  • Upper blepharoplasty
  • Liposuction to the neck and jowls
  • Fat injection to the nasolabial folds, cheek regions and lips

If you have loose, or an excess of, upper eyelid skin then you may be a candidate for an upper blepharoplasty. It results in a scar placed in the crease of the eyelid.

Liposuction to the neck and jowls may also be used to reshape the lower face.

One factor of ageing is the loss of fat from the face. Using modern fat injection techniques, volume can be added where indicated.

When these 3 procedures are combined, multiple concerns can be addressed. The results will vary from those achieved by a facelift but it is an alternative that many patients will look at when contemplating facial surgery.

It is important to remember, any invasive procedure carries risks and individual results may vary depending on factors, not limited to but including age, genetics, diet, lifestyle and existing medical conditions. Before any surgery, we recommend you consult a qualified health practitioner who should discuss with you at length these risks including possible complications and recovery/aftercare instructions specific to your procedure. If unsure, always seek a second opinion from a specialist plastic surgeon.
